A study from Harvard showed that daily mindfulness meditation changes the anatomical structure of the brain by growing gray and white matter in key areas associated with self-awareness and compassion, while shrinking gray and white matter in areas associated with stress.

Guided Relaxation

Practices like guided meditation are excellent ways to increase calm in your life. You can concentrate on your breath as it enters and exits your body by sitting or moving during a meditation. Your body can be calmed through a variety of techniques, such as meditation or yoga.

Breathing Methods

You’ll discover several techniques for concentrating on your breathing. You can reroute your negative thoughts with the aid of breath exercises, which will help you concentrate more on the here and now. Even one minute of breath awareness can be beneficial!

Quieting the Inner Critic

Greater ease and well-being in daily life are the results of being aware and compassionate. When one is in a state of mindfulness, they are able to see their thoughts and feelings as they are without trying to ignore or reject them. Learn how to cultivate greater self-compassion in your life.

Mindful Eating

Sometimes the mere concept of food fills our minds, which is unhealthy for our bodies and minds. An approach to food called mindful eating focuses on people’s sensual awareness of the food and their experience of the meal. Mindful eating is defined as paying attention to our food on purpose, minute by moment, without judgment. Calories, carbs, fat, and protein don’t really matter. Quit worrying so much about food and start letting your body tell you when it’s time to eat.

I am a certified yoga instructor through Challenge to Change inc, Balanced Breath School of Yoga, and Yoga Fit. I have been a fitness instructor for many years from teaching Pilates to spinning classes and now yoga. Yoga has always been a part of me, but in January of 2010 when I discovered I had stage 3 cancer….I discovered how yoga can really help one mentally. It would give me energy after my chemotherapy treatments and relax my mind and keep me in peace. Yoga was and still is a gift I discovered for myself. Now I offer beginner to advanced yoga sessions coupled with meditation.
